Coming From Boston

Boston Logan Airport (BOS) will likely be the cheapest and most accessible destination airport for most out-of-town guests.  From Logan, you can continue to Hanover via the CapeAir flight, the Dartmouth Coach, or by renting a car.  

Planes

Cape Air connects to Lebanon Municipal Airport (~10 minutes from Hanover) from Logan Airport in Boston.  As a warning, the planes are very small, but the New England views from the air are gorgeous, and the flights are quick and convenient.  You will need to rent a car or arrange a cab from Lebanon Airport (see driving directions below).

Trains (Buses)

The Dartmouth Coach picks up at Boston Logan and ends in downtown Hanover outside of the Hanover Inn. The coach runs every two hours daily.  The buses provide wireless internet and usually play a movie.

Automobiles

Take I-93 north to I-89 north at Concord, NH. Get off I-89 at Exit 18 in Lebanon, NH onto Route 120 (exit for Dartmouth College). Bear right off the exit, heading north on Route 120 into Hanover. Four and one-tenth miles from the exit, Route 120 forks at a traffic light. Bear right, following Route 120 one-half mile on South Park Street to the second traffic light. Turn left at the light, onto East Wheelock Street. Follow for two-tenths of a mile. The Hanover Inn will be on your left, and the Dartmouth Green will be on your right.  Google Maps


Coming From Manchester

Manchester Regional Airport (MHT) is another local airport.option. It is closer to Hanover than Boston by about 30 minutes, as well as smaller and generally less crowded, but has fewer flight options in and out. You will need to rent a car. 

AUTOMOBILES

From the airport, take I-293 North toward Concord. Merge onto I-93 North. Drive approximately 8 miles, then merge onto I-89 North, going towards White River Junction, VT. Get off I-89 at Exit 18 in Lebanon, NH onto Route 120 (exit for Dartmouth College). Bear right off the exit, heading north on Route 120 into Hanover. Approximately four miles from the exit, Route 120 forks at a traffic light. Bear right, following Route 120 one-half mile on South Park Street to the second traffic light. Coming From Lebanon

Lebanon Municipal Airport (LEB) is a very small airport about 10 minutes from Hanover that services New York and Boston via CapeAir.  You will need to rent a car or arrange a taxi to get from Lebanon to Hanover. 

AUTOMOBILES

Exit the airport lot and turn left on Airport Road. Turn right on Plainfield Road/Route 12-A at the bottom of the hill.  At the next intersection, turn left to take ramp onto I-89 North toward Vermont/I-91. Take the White River Junction exit onto I-91 North. In five miles, take Exit 13 (Norwich, VT) onto VT-10A East toward Hanover. Cross the Ledyard Bridge spanning the Connecticut River. Continue up the hill (West Wheelock Street) for nine-tenths of a mile to the traffic light in the center of town. Coming From New York  

PLANES

Cape Air connects to Lebanon Municipal Airport (~10 minutes from Hanover) from Westchester County Airport.  If coming from Manhattan, CapeAir provides car service from Penn Station to Westchester.  As a warning, the planes are very small, but the New England views from the air are gorgeous, and the flights are quick and convenient.  You will need to rent a car or arrange a cab from Lebanon Airport (see driving directions above).

TRAINS (Buses)

The Dartmouth Coach directly connects New York and Hanover, with routes offered many times daily.  The coach bus picks up at 150 East 42nd Street (between Lexington and 3rd Avenue) and drops off directly at The Hanover Inn.

Coming From Burlington

Burlington International Airport (BVO) is about an hour and a half north of Hanover.  Burlington is generally more expensive, but worth checking (it sometimes has cheap Jetblue flights).  From Burlington, you will need to rent a car to get to Hanover.

Take I-89 south to I-91 north in White River Junction, VT. Take I-91 north to Exit 13 (Norwich, VT). Bear right off the exit, across the Ledyard Bridge spanning the Connecticut River.
